"In search of a lost paradise": the abandoned village of Kuzhbeyi

July 7, 2007. Transcarpathian Regional State Television and Radio Company. The video film "In Search of a Lost Paradise" tells about the abandoned village of Kuzhbey in Mizhhirshchyna. The authors investigate why people left the village, who stayed there to live and what its uniqueness lies in.

The film shows landscapes of the Carpathians, forests and mountains, as well as the village of Kuzhbey and its surroundings. The story is complemented by sound recordings of the folklore of Transcarpathia in the 1930–1940s from the archive of Ivan Pankevich, used based on Mykola Mushinka's book "The Voice of the Ancestors", published in Pryševo, Slovakia.
