Marhanets: an accident at a railway crossing

The video shows the burial of the victims of the accident at the railway crossing, interviews with relatives of the victims, psychologists at the temporary headquarters, an ambulance, the building of the city council of Marhanets, a railway crossing, relatives of the victims laying flowers at the accident site, interviews with local residents, people at the railway crossing waiting for a train to pass, a bus and a truck with coffins, the flag of Ukraine with a mourning ribbon.

On October 12, 2010, in the village of Horodyshche near Marhanets, an electric locomotive rammed a passenger bus "Etalon", which was traveling from Horodyshche to Marhanets, at the railway crossing. After the collision, the electric locomotive dragged the bus for about 300 meters until it came to a complete stop.

41 people died at the scene of the accident, and 4 more died later in the hospital. Seven of the passengers survived. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the bus driver was to blame for the accident, as he ignored the traffic signal and drove onto the crossing. The driver died at the scene of the accident.
