“Garrison” program: Defender's Day

Zhytomyr TV and Radio Company, 2007. A series of programs “Garrison” dedicated to the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland.

Video footage: veterans in the auditorium, laying flowers at monuments, photos from personal archives, and more. Interviews: 8th Army Corps commander Serhiy Ostrovsky; Zhytomyr RSTBC general director Viktor Boyko; Father Bohdan, rector of St. Michael's Cathedral; Mykola Rudchenko, head of the regional organization of the People's Party; Honored Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Shynkaruk; retired colonel and World War II veteran Petro Tsupenko; retired colonel and World War II veteran Borys Tumanov; conscript of the 95th Airmobile Brigade Anatoliy Kotvitsky.

The program uses fragments of the Soviet film “Heavenly Silent Engine” and songs in russian.
