The video shows shots of the autumn city, people, churches, monuments, the bus station, Kyiv Gate, archival photos of the city, historical figures. It tells about the history of the city, the proclamation of anathema to Ivan Mazepa, the destruction of churches and the execution of Cossacks by order of the russian tsar, Taras Shevchenko's stay in Hlukhiv, and the creation of the Singing School.
