Reference: Stepan Kovnir worked at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra for almost 40 years, creating numerous buildings of its complex, including the bell towers, the Kovnir building and the Klovsky Palace. He started as a bricklayer, later becoming a master of stone construction. His work completed the formation of the architectural ensemble of the Lavra.
