Sumy region: villages that are dying out

Sumy television, 2008. The program “The village as if it burned down...” about villages that are dying out.

The video shows the village of Ulitsa: a village hut, villagers in national costumes, a blooming apple tree; abandoned villages, ruined houses, left behind belongings of the owners, old fences that have been tilted; thickets and weeds, an old garden; the old cemetery of the Rih hamlet; the last resident of the village who left her home and moved closer to people in the village of Pyharivka; a swallow's nest in the abandoned house of Pelageya Baranova; the railway track is overgrown with weeds; the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, deputies, politicians: Viktor Yushchenko, Viktor Yanukovych, Yulia Tymoshenko; administrative building of the Sumy Regional Council, deputies, session of the regional council, considering the issue of excluding Myrne village of Velykopysarivskyi district from the register of settlements; village wedding; sunrise.
