
"Echoes of Ages": the history of Vozvyahel

Zhytomyr Television. The "Echoes of Ages" issue of the literary and artistic program "Teteriv" for August 25, 2007 is dedicated to the opening of a memorial sign on the site of ancient Zvyahel.
The video shows a theatrical performance with the participation of the Ensemble of the National Rite "Rodoslav" and actors of the Zhytomyr State Musical Drama Theater, Honored Artists of Ukraine Lilia Berelet, Vasyl Makarenko, Mykhailo Baklan, Serhiy Rogov, Dmytro Zinevich, Mykola Karpovich, Mykhailo Smirnov.
Commentary by the Head of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration Yuriy Pavlenko and the Mayor of Zvyahel Mykola Borovets.

Reference: Vozvyagl (modern Zvyagel) is an ancient Russian city of the Bolokhiv land, an archaeological site in the territory of modern Zhytomyr region. Archaeologically represented by two 12th–13th century settlements on the Sluch River, in one of which the remains of defensive and economic structures, as well as a treasure trove of jewelry, were discovered. It was first mentioned in the chronicle under the year 1256.
