Reference: The Khortytsya Cavalry Regiment ("Black Zaporozhets") is a cavalry regiment of the Army of the UNR, formed in December 1918 from the cavalry company of the 2nd Zaporozhye Regiment. It took part in the Second Ukrainian-Bolshevik War, the First Winter Campaign and the Soviet-Polish War, distinguished by its high combat efficiency and unified black uniform. After November 1920, the regiment was interned in Poland.
