Village of Targany: Memorial to the Holodomor Victims

Reference: The first monument in Ukraine to the victims of the Holodomor of 1932–1933 was erected in the village of Targany (Kyiv region) on the initiative and personally made by local craftsman Mykola Mykytenko. The sculpture represents an exhausted woman with a cross of fate and has memorial inscriptions in honor of 360 deceased peasants.
